DPH has an opening for a WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (JOB ID: 3188) with the Denver Prevention Training Center. Please share information below with colleagues/network and encourage them to apply. 

Job Summary

Under general supervision, organizes, prepares, and conducts complex training and educational programs for the Denver Prevention Training Center. This position will develop online courses, as well as conduct some face-to-face training. Maintains records of training activities, student progress, and program effectiveness. Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of information systems training.

 Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Designs and implements curriculum for both instructor led and web-based learning using tools such as Articulate, Storyline, Adobe Creative Suites, Lectora & Captivate. 2. Designs these materials to appeal to a broad spectrum of adult learning styles and needs. 3. Develops user manuals, job aids and step-by-step instruction 4. Conducts on-going training on a monthly basis or as determined by the project to new users to the system. 5. Acts in response to CDC and NNPTC web-based training requests. 6. Prepares all training materials for classes. Improvises alternate presentation methods when tools malfunction. 7. Analyze content, target audience, job tasks, and learner environment to identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives. 8. Organizes course content to produce curriculum that meets learning needs of the business. Develops and manages timelines and milestones. 9. Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and modify instructional material. 10. Works constructively with other Denver Health Teams 11. Participates in group huddles and brainstorming sessions. 12. Incorporates feedback from peers, supervisors, and manager to help improve design process. 13. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to use audiovisual equipment and apply the use of multi-media into presentations 2. Knowledge of Instructional Design models such as ADDIE model and Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. 3. Knowledge of design aesthetics with an ability to design print materials that appeal to a variety of learning styles. 4. Ability to navigate Intranets and Internets including performing searches and research. 5. Excellent oral and written skills. Computers and Technology 1. Microsoft Office Suite. 2. Web-based learning tools; Articulate, Storyline, Lectora, and Captivate. 3. Adobe Creative Suites.

Education 

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Experience 

A combination of experience, education and training will be considered. 2. Three years training and organizational development experience to healthcare professionals with an emphasis in consulting-based activities including peer-to-peer coaching, facilitation and training design, development and delivery.
